Caran d'Ache Pablo Apple Drawing
Caran d'Ache Pablo Apple Drawing
I absolutely love looking at botanical art, especially colored pencil and watercolor art in this genre, so I decided to give it a go for the very first time. Ordinarily if I was going to do a piece like this I would have recorded it for a speed drawing and I would have used my special paper, the Strathmore 500 Series Bristol Plate, however, I wasn't very confident and was quite cautious.
As a result I didn't record the drawing and I drew it on excellent paper, but just not my special paper, it was completed on Strathmore 400 Series Bristol Smooth.
The entire drawing however was completed using my Caran d'Ache Pablo colored pencils, this is the first art work I have completed using just colored pencils, I really need to start drawing more 100% colored pencil work.
While just colored pencil art work is definitely slower than marker and colored pencil, it is an incredibly satisfying process and one I really enjoy doing. Any way, here is a series of images from start to finish of this drawing.
There is no hiding it and no point in hiding the fact, but I am a huge fan of Caran d'Ache products, they are incredibly well crafted and I use that word crafted deliberately. They can be expensive but it is so true what they say, "You get what you pay for".
